Accessories for underground pipe locators

As we learned in a previous post, locators for identifying underground utilities are very useful for preventing damage before trenching for the installation of new utilities, whether telecommunications or other types such as electrical or gas.

Despite being equipment that is quite effective on its own, sometimes using the following accessories allows for greater precision when locating and, in some cases, they are very useful when we are in areas that are difficult to access.

• Clamps

Locator clamps are used to identify a specific cable in situations where several cables pass through the same point or are close together.

• Submersible antennas

To track pipes and underground cables in waterways such as rivers or lagoons, submersible antennas can be used. These antennas connect to our locator wand, and it is advisable to rely on a diver who can locate the utility underwater. Another alternative is to attach the antenna to the end of a non-metallic arm from a barge.

• Cell phone holder

This locator accessory is not strictly a locating complement, but it is a great help when using the Radiodetection RD Map APP, as we can place the cell phone or tablet on our wand and have visual information of the inspection points being marked.

With these accessories, locating cables or pipes will be a simpler and more practical task. Remember that at Incom, we have the ideal locators for your projects.
