RFID devices can be categorized as transmitters and receivers.
RFID transmitting devices are responsible for emitting the signal and can be of two types: passive or active. The difference is that active devices have a power source, while passive devices operate without one.
Passive devices have a limited range, approximately 5 meters.
Active devices can have a range of almost 100 times greater.
How does it work?
The RFID transmitting device generates radio waves, creating an electromagnetic field. If an RFID receiving device approaches, it will receive the waves and establish communication with the transmitter.
This way, we can ensure the exchange of information, which will be uninterrupted until the receiver moves away from the transmitter or vice versa.
